Church news, August 3rd

Good day to all, as I write this the sun in slowly starting to peek out the dark grey clouds above me.  The grass is wet, but lush and green from a night of slow and steady rain.  The church is quiet this morning but God is alive and at work all around us.

This coming weekend, the August long, including Sunday August 5th, so many different things are happening.

Our Afternoon service, with Pastor Miguel has rented a camp on Christopher lake for a family camp.  Almost all of their families are heading there for a 3 day family camp.  There will be no afternoon service this Sunday at the church.

Our morning service also will not be at the church building either.  This weekend many families are away as is usual on August Long Weekend, but we have also decided to experience and encourage all our church families to go and see what God is doing.  For those heading out of town and those staying in town we invite you to head to another church, one you perhaps have not been to before and just join the larger (city wide) experiences of God at work.  There are so many things we can glean from other churches we attend on occasion.  Like:
- what it feels like to be a visitor (and not even know where to find a restroom!)
- we notice how different the church is, and how we both have a church 'home' and a global 'king' in Jesus.
- I would also invite you to notice the way God is at work, it may be the same, or different than you are used to - it still God at work
- You may see things done in a different way than we do here at Massey Place, and thats great too!

With all of our different experiences, I invite you all to come and join us on Sunday August 12th at 10:30.  During that service we will explore together, all the different things we noticed, celebrating what God is doing in our city and country and globe - I think we can and should learn from other churches, we should encourage and pray for them too.  We all have a unique and special part to play in telling our city, our friends, our families and yes even our co-workers about the person of Jesus Christ.

So, have a wonderful weekend, check out what else God is up to around wherever you will be this weekend, and see you next Sunday (Aug 12), 10:30am - right here at Massey Place Church.

God Bless,  Pastor Curtis
